Why do I need to complete ID verification, and how does it work?
To ensure a safe and trusted experience for both tradespeople and homeowners, Rated People may require you to complete a one-time ID verification process.
Why is ID verification required?
This process helps us to:
- Confirm the identity of account holders
- Maintain a trusted marketplace
- Ensure that only verified tradespeople can access certain opportunities
Completing verification can also unlock access to restricted leads, giving you more opportunities to win work.
What does “ID Check Required” mean?
If you see a lead marked with “ID Check Required”, it means that you’ll need to complete the verification process before you can access or purchase that lead.
How the verification process works
The process is quick and only needs to be completed once. When you’re ready:
- Click on the ID Check Required link
- Follow the steps to:
- Take a live selfie
- Upload a photo of a valid ID document (such as a driving licence or passport)
Once submitted:
- In many cases, verification is approved instantly, allowing you to access leads straight away
- In some cases, it may require a manual review, which can take a little longer
Important things to know
- The verification must be completed by the account holder only. We do not accept ID submissions from anyone else.
- The verification link is unique and can only be used once.
- You should only click the link when you are ready to complete the full process.
If you click the link but do not complete the process, you will need to contact our Support Team via the chatbot to request a new link. Please note that generating a new link may take a couple of days, as each link is unique.
