Great service, visited very quickly and diagnosed the problem correctly. Gave us options to fix, including re-using something we already had rather than forking out for a new one unnecessarily, so very much appreciated. Recommended!

Joe did a fantastic job for us at very short notice. He had to install RCD box to replace old fuse system and then do a full electricity inspection of the house. He knows his stuff very well and could explain me everything very convincingly. The job was done quickly and very neatly. Charges were very realistic. He took responsibility of the work and also revisited next day to ensure everything is proper. We would highly recommend him.

Internal Lighting
He quoted for my job over the phone at £90. When I said this sounded really cheap he upped it to £150. He should have come out to view the job before giving a quote. When I asked if this included the cost of the materials (min 3 MF junction boxes) he said he didn't know how much they would be. Further questioning:he didn't actually know what they were and he wasn't aware of the updated regulations concerning accessibility and MF junction boxes. I was concerned about his tech skills and how he quoted.

I would like to point out that I have 45 years experience and am a registered domestic installer and also a member of the N.I.C.E.I.C and currently hold 17th edition IEE wiring regulations certification.

I think it's fair to say that I am most certainly sufficiently qualified in the electrical industry. May I just add that the MF boxes the owner refers to in her unfair rating are known as screwless clip on connectors which we use all the time.

The price of the job changed because the owner was adding on extra worked doing.

MF junction boxes DO NOT need to be accessible - reg 526.3 (vi). This is as a result of revisions to the regs in 2012. As Joe said he didn't know this I did not feel comfortable with him doing the work. I therefore didn't want to waste his time having him come to my house to look at the job. If he didn't understand the nature of the job he shouldn't have provided any quote over the phone. It was only when challenged he offered to visit.

I did not add any other work that wasn't covered in the job details. On the phone Joe said he was having problems with the display on his phone and he couldn't read the full description. He still insisted on giving a quote.

We received a quick quote and a convenient timescale to have the work completed. Time keeping was good, generally a happy customer, would use again.
