Because we’re a small team, we stay involved in the work ourselves. You’ll know who’s doing the job, we keep things moving, and we don’t believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. We’re also proud to have apprentices as part of our team. We believe in giving the next generation a proper start in the trade — learning on the job, picking up good habits and working alongside experienced people. It’s good for them, good for the industry and, if we’re honest, it keeps us on our toes too! We’re particularly good at taking tired properties and giving them a proper transformation, with full renovations and HMO conversions being a big part of what we do. We’re based in Shropshire, but we’re happy to travel for the right project. We’ve always been willing to go a little further when the job, the people and the project are right. For us, it’s about taking on work we can get stuck into and be proud of, wherever that takes us. We’re not trying to be the biggest building company around. The job was posted on 22nd July 2025 and Wade Ellis of Ellis Roofing And Building Ltd responded 2 days later. After a survey, I received a quote on 26th July, which was accepted. A skip arrived on 29th July and the work commenced next day. The job was completed on 1st August. The bricklayer and his female trainee assistant got on with the job without any fuss, and they were very pleasant to deal with. The aim of the project has been delivered and I am very happy with the result. I recommend them. 5 stars!

Gareth, the proprietor of GMS is a qualified wood machinist by trade and has over 25 years’ experience working within the construction industry. Gareth first started the business in 2005 with a view to provide clients across North Wales and Cheshire with kitchens. In the last 10 years the business has diversified and now accommodates a scheme of works within construction from kitchens to bathrooms, gardens to bedrooms, fire and flood damaged properties and more. Gareth employs several staff and subcontracts to NICEIC registered Electricians and GAS SAFE registered gas engineers. Therefore, GMS can offer project managing and the client only needs to converse with one trade [GMS] rather than multiple. Thus, taking the stress out of the job.

With a team of bricklayers, plasterers, roofer and joiner and on site manager full time we are a one stop builders able to complete all your building needs. We can help with architects, engineers and we only use one set of certified plumbers and electricians.

Fantastic turnaround time on this job. From coming out to assess the work needed, to completing the build, took less than 48 hours. The price was reasonable and I'd be happy to book other jobs with them and recommend them to others.

Luke gave a decent quote for some roof, paving & fence work. What they did complete was good, but they did not finish the job. Communication was very frustrating and I had to constantly chase for updates. I stupidly paid the full balance after the garden was complete, but before the roof work was. It's now 9 weeks on & despite repeated assurances that they will come back (and me offering a further £200 to complete the roof work), I do not believe they intend to return. 3/5
