When embarking on a large project (in this case a substantial house extension) you want to be reassured that as well as good communication throughout the job, the quality of work will be of the highest and that best efforts are made to bring the job in on time and as near as possible on budget. My wife and I were very impressed on all these fronts and would heartily recommend the AJR team. They turned up everyday for the 3 months the job took, were polite and resolved unforeseen problems creatively.
AF Building&Maintenance Ltd was formed in 2015 by Arek Fleszer, who has 22 years experience in the construction industry. It is a small, friendly and thriving company. We have completed a number of contracts with various multinational and local companies.
Arek gave us a fair quote and worked with us for a suitable start date. Arek, Kris and Gutek were lovely, friendly and polite. Ben’s journey in construction started at an early age. He grew up on construction sites alongside his father, who had a long-standing background in construction and worked directly on government projects. This gave Ben an early understanding of construction that came from being around real projects, real trades and the realities of building. He later studied Architecture, developing a deeper understanding of design, structure and how buildings come together. During this time, his passion for timber and craftsmanship became particularly strong. He discovered that what interested him most was not only designing buildings, but actually creating them. Before establishing NOAH Construction, Ben also gained experience working for leading construction companies, where he was exposed to projects worth millions of pounds and was involved in works with values reaching approximately £10 million. This experience gave him an understanding of the organisation, standards and responsibility required on larger construction projects. NOAH Construction was then established as a way to build something of his own. In just three years, the company has progressed from delivering smaller projects to successfully undertaking works ranging from approximately £50,000 to £1 million in value. Today, Ben combines three important parts of his background: hands-on construction experience from an early age, architectural education, and experience working within larger-scale construction environments. His particular passion remains timber and craftsmanship, but his approach to construction goes beyond one material or trade. The goal is to understand the project as a whole, build it properly and deliver work that he can stand behind. I am qualified in several construction led courses as stated below. I am physically fit with a good head for heights and working in confined spaces. Precise, accurate and reliable hard worker with good communication skills, self motivated and confident with the ability to work as part of a team. I can take charge if required and confident to be able to lead a team. I am keen to develop and attend the relevant training programmes to learn more with a view to progressing within certain job roles, updating current skills and keeping my portfolio current. I am aware of the importance of keeping within the Health and safety regulations and the importance of using the correct PPE.
