The job was posted on 22nd July 2025 and Wade Ellis of Ellis Roofing And Building Ltd responded 2 days later. After a survey, I received a quote on 26th July, which was accepted. A skip arrived on 29th July and the work commenced next day. The job was completed on 1st August. The bricklayer and his female trainee assistant got on with the job without any fuss, and they were very pleasant to deal with. The aim of the project has been delivered and I am very happy with the result. I recommend them. 5 stars!

Lee Warburton from Lock Hub made an arrangement to visit for a quote, but never arrived and made no attempt to inform me. I then contacted him to arrange another visit for a quote and once again he never turned up, even though I checked with him the day before to ensure that he would honour the arrangement. Consequently, I find it hard to trust someone who does not meet their obligations .

If I could change to Zero I would. Once they did the job, took the money they have blanked all requests to check a snagging issue. One window sill leaking, have called, texted and just getting fobbed off on last call they said they would call back in 5 minutes - that was 3 days ago….. #Avoid

We’ve renovated a few properties over the years dealt with dozens of tradespeople, both good and bad and Martin sits at the top of the good pile. He had a passion for the job, charged a reasonable price and showed knowledge and commitment. Visited, gave a quote. Seemed a reasonable price and so Job accepted. Said he would call with start date the next day. To date, despite leaving messages there’s unfortunately been no response. I’d really respect a person more if they could admit the job is beyond their capability at the time and save time and energy. Just be honest about it. Honesty costs nothing.

PB installed a new Velux window where an old skylight had been positioned. The job turned out to be more complicated than first anticipated. However, PBs staff stayed as long as the task took (working into the dark and coming back the next day) and charged no extra. They were punctual, polite, friendly, and professional and the job was reasonably priced.

Ripped the new flashing, water pouring in. Ceiling soaked, rug ruined, laminate flooring now lifting. Didn’t turn up for 3 days. Roof still leaking. Changes sim in his phone so you can’t get hold of him after paying out £8k. Avoid Will he is a chancer. Do not use this company!
