I commissioned Alec Gardner Builder to install an interior Bathroom on the strength of his previous work replacing a soil down pipe. He is such a skilled and talented builder with an acute attention to detail. He constructed an excellent bathroom where I wouldn't have thought it was possible.( He also re felted the roof of a geriatric and tricky shed) I have no hesitation in recommending him for building work.

Slav and his team worked tirelessly over several days to clear a significant amount of garden soil and relocated a deck in preparation for a new patio. He then organised retaining wall footings and an mot surface ready for the next phase. Throught, he and his team communicated about progress and sought clarification when appropriate. The job was completed on time and in budget and the team always cleared up at the end of the work day. I'm very pleased with Slav's service and have engaged him again.

I hired this contractor to install laminate flooring and skirting boards, and I am extremely disappointed with the result. The finish looks amateurish, with visible gaps and poorly cut edges. To make matters worse, the price was initially agreed at £300, but once the work was 'finished,' he demanded £400 without prior notice. Since then, he has stopped responding to my calls and messages for weeks regarding necessary repairs. Save yourself the stress and hire a real professional instead.

I have worked in both the construction industry and in the private sector for over 20 years having developed a wide range of skills and expertise. I particularly specialise in the causes of damp, damp- proofing solutions, plaster boarding/plastering. Bricklaying (internal and external), blockwork and stud walling. I have also successfully undertaken work in many areas of home and garden improvement/repair/maintenance, a selection including - the installation of skirting boards, internal door adjustments and re-hanging doors, laying laminate and engineered wood flooring and the assembly of flat-pack furniture. Removal and replacement of guttering, drainpipes, fascia and soffits. Decking, garden walling, handrails, patios and steps to accommodate sloping gardens. I was very satisfied with the results of VFurb's external renovation and decoration work, which took 3 weeks in total, extended due to rain. Dragos worked six days a week to keep me informed of progress, answered all my questions, and identified practical solutions to unforeseen problems, supported by detailed costings . He was always present to supervise his team of 2-4 workers, and personally completed the most complex roofing, piping and guttering jobs himself to a high standard.
